August 2021:

Following a period intense activity in our bond and legal support programs, CIFF is taking a short-term hiatus, pausing new bond and legal support applications while we redouble efforts to raise sufficient funds to once again offer assistance with these payments. During this time, CIFF will not be able to take any new legal support applications and will not be able to contribute to bond payments. If the case should arise in which a family or other organization has the capacity to fully fund a bond but needs help finding an obligor to post the bond, CIFF may be able to support in this capacity, in which case, please fill out the form on the Contact Us page and we will connect with you shortly.

The Cville Immigrant Freedom Fund accepts applications from undocumented immigrants who:

  • Live or intend to live in Charlottesville, Nelson or Albemarle County or in some case, within Virginia

  • Have household/family income at 200% of poverty or less

We prioritize our assistance for those who are:

  • Unaccompanied minors

  • Other juveniles

  • Single mothers

  • Survivors of gender-based, gang or state-sanctioned violence

  • Family breadwinners

  • Those being held in isolation

Applications from other Virginia residents are welcome and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If you are interested in applying for yourself or someone else, please submit our inquiry form and we will respond as quickly as possible.
